Chair Bench

I repurposed three old dining room chairs into a bench for my garden. This is a great way to use old chairs. You can check out the details on how to do it at http://froufrugal.blogspot.com/2011/07/from-.... I also show you how to make a custom pad for the bench at http://froufrugal.blogspot.com/2011/08/bench...

Suesan - I did check out your blog and I think carrying the theme from the upholstery up to the oval area on the top of the chair/bench was the perfect finishing touch!!

And just for the record, IF this bench was for sale in a high-end shop or boutique the price tag would easily be $1500. Sure hope I didn't under estimate because to you it's priceless. Love it!!

Wow, Susan, I'm stunned. If I ever sold it, I probably would have asked $200 at most for it. Go figure, but I never get full retail pricing since I rarely pay it for things. :D

That is so neat. Why didn't I think of that before getting rid of my chairs?

I love the bench idea. What are you going to do with the extra chair?? I would fix the crack, then match it with the bench to put into the sitting space in your garden or backyard. You could also make it a childs sitting chair to match.

Cut down the legs and do what you did to the bench. It would really be cute. Sami

That's a great idea, Sami. I have room on my balcony for another chair, so I may just do that.

I made one similar to this with 2 vintage dining room chairs but put the chairs facing each other and used a rattan head board for the back.

Oh how cute! I have two similar chairs that after seeing this I'm thinking of trying my hand at making them into a bench. I'll have to either find another chair that will work for the center or build something. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
