We have a few geese who keep coming into our yard to feed. We want to know what we can do to keep them out of the yard.

Start by feeding them outside the yard & gradually increase the distance away from the yard

Wild geese spook easily. I'd put a pole with a horn attached that can be activated remotely from inside the house. Once you see them start to come into the yard, blow the horn. After a while, they'll form their own boundary line & won't come near where they've heard that horn. It may take several tries but they'll get the message. Also, if you're worried about them going hungry, you could sprinkle some feed in another area that you want them to go. That will get them used to foraging in another area away from your yard. Hope this helps.

They are nearly impossible to keep out of your yard, my husband would yell at them or bang on our deck railing, and if they were out in the water but headed into our yard my husband would use the slingshot and marbles to ward them off the marbles don't harm them they just scare them off. The dogs would also bark at them. After their eggs hatched sometimes we would have 30 or 40 geese sleeping in our yard or on our dock. Couldn't do anything about the lawn but just changing the height and length of the dock stopped them from sleeping there and no more big piles of goose poop. One time I tried putting one of those motion controlled singing fish on the dock, it didn't help.

If you know of someone handy who can make you a silhouette of a dog out of wood, the geese will no longer come into your yard. We purchased a bunch of them to put in the school yards so the kids could play without stepping in geese droppings and it worked like a charm. Just paint it all black and you're set!

I wish I lived closer. I'd let you borrow Jonesy. She won't even let birds in the air space above our property!! haha!!

My new husband lives on a lake, with geese and their babies coming into the yard. I want a swimming pool, but am afraid to, since they will prob use it to swim in. Yuck!
