I've seen several of these around my pond so I would like to know what it is.
Just another bug at the pond. Not afraid of people.

I am far from a bug ID expert, but, based on the shape and the proximity to your pond, I would guess some kind of skimmer.

@Douglas Hunt I decided to work a little and found the bug at whatsthatbug.com. It is a water scorpion & it delivers a painful bite. Hmmm, my friend was lucky as it didn't bite him.

a water strider. Leave it be. It eats mosquito and other harmful insects. It can deliver a painful bite. I love to watch them walk on water.

I haven't seen one in awhile but if they eat mosquito larvae I'm happy with them.

I saw the bug walking on water and saw my little lizard catch and eat it. I wondered why the lizards were on the stone around the pond @Fenya Kashergen.
