Add Etching Paint to a Plain Mirror for an Easy/Inexpensive Upgrade

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
I saw a beautiful Venetian glass mirror in a hotel room and wanted the same look at home. I happened to have a plain mirror, so I bought some etching craft paint for 99 cents, and stencil for $4.99 and went to work. It only took 30 minutes. The iridescent glass paint and the stencil were easily found at a craft store. I already had the mirror on hand.
I taped the stencil to the corners of the mirror and tapped away with a sponge brush. I used half of the design along the edges.
The paint dried quickly, and although this photo is a little blurry, the final product is great.

Ooooh! Don't you just love those venetian mirrors. I have coveted one of those for years! Well done on finding a thrifty work around to get the look you (and so many others) so clearly love. Sometimes the most simple solutions are the most effective and you gotta love that you saved yourself a heap of money doing it yourself!
