Turn a Wine Crate Into a Serving Tray

I had some really nice wooden wine boxes that a local winery gave to me awhile back so I decided to transform one of them.
I simply gave it a coat of paint and sealed it with wax so liquids would not cause any damage to the wood.
stenciled on a design for a little interest using a sharpie
I added some knobs I found at Cost Plus
Voila, pretty serving tray!

With handles ,these are nice to carry food to potluck,etc. The one I saw had rope handles.
