Lettuce? They've come up in a window box on my deck that I had planted lettuce in last year so I wonder if that's what it is or if it's a weed or something else.

Yep. Everyone else is on the money. Petunias will reseed anywhere. I've had them turn up in the strangest places.

Oh I had forgotten that I planted petunias last year. So that's what they are. Thanks everybody.

Yes agreed petunias as you can see the fuzziness on the leaves.

I agree they are seedling petunias. The furry stems are a give-away!

Try downloading the plant id app. It is fabulous. Simply snap and then you will have several options come up. Handy tool.

Looks just like the ones I have in my pot from last years plantings.... Did you have any petunias in another planter? I have others nearby my large pot that I am transplanting into the areas that are bare. If you even used it for Petunias after the lettuce the seeds will survive sometimes, depending on how cold your weather was over the winter. I got some even in dirt I took out of other post last year and we had a mild winter.
