'Tis the season to be outdoors! What kind of outdoor space do you PINE for?

A recent (and unscientific) survey on Facebook by Thompson's Waterseal asked: "What would you do if you won $15,000 to spend on your deck?" The number one answer, with 47% giving it a 10, was to tear out the current deck and start over; alterations that improve both beauty and functionality were the most popular choices.
What kind of outdoor space would you create?

I have an OLD and outdated in the ground gunnite pool from the 1960's surrounded by a DYI (by the former home owners) that includes a silver chain link fence, a hot cement apron, narrow steps made of rotting railroad ties and a 3 ft. strip of soil/pea gravel that is full of weeds. I would definitely tear out the old fencing (I'd repurpose that for the animals), and build a lovely wooded deck around it with nice wide steps, more private fencing that looked good while giving privacy. What a dream that would be!!
