I've been transforming my former grassy backyard into my secret garden. I began by using a technique called "lasagna gardening" by which you do not need to take out the grass! Read all about it and see a video on my post at http://ivylore.hubpages.com/hub/creating-garden-magic
Here are some scenes of how it started coming together and thanks so much for viewing!
found this cute sideways planter at Salvation Army- planted it with chocolate mint
love this purple beauty- dense green foliage-Bee Balm!
new to the garden- "maltese cross" with bright red flowers
hibiscus getting ready to give a few new blooms!
marjoram on right; veronica recuperating in the background
dianthus in front, white carpathian harebell in back- both recuperating nicely after planting!

First bloom of my new hibiscus- Gorgeous! Just wish they'd stay around longer :(
