Elm? Mystery tree/bush in my yard.

Question

Does anyone know for sure what this is that's been growing in my flower garden for the last few years? I don't want to cut it down, in case it's something I may want to keep like a nut tree/shrub, etc.

Looks like an Elm tree,....But some birch have similar leaves.

Thanks. I didn't post anything to gauge the size of the leaves, but these leaves are too big for our native birch trees.

Elm trees are hard to get out unless you get them while they are young. They seem to pop up everywhere for me.

It looks to me like an Elm Tree and they can be very fast growing. They are kind of nice when the wind russels the leaves, they has a distinct sound to them. They don't grow really full but they do get quite tall.

That's an Elm tree...pull it up and discard. They do get very big, but the limbs can be very weak and break off and fall on your house You don't ant it close to your foundation.
