Anyone with ideas in this area for plants. Full sun, drought tolerant, low maint, favorite color purple. Should I raise the empty area in the front to place some annuals and perrennials. Thinking about purple coneflower, purple salvia, purplewave petunias.? Should I move the smaller shrubs Help! Please

Lamb's Ear. Loves full sun. Low maint. Irresistable to touch, and blooms are lavender in color.

Lazy Gardener Plan: Looks like you need something short...purple verbena and/or purple potato vine will last all summer into fall. You can intertwine the vine through out the green plants and make them pop. I also like purple ice plants.

Working Gardener Plan: Make raised beds, move plants as needed and use the various plants you and others have suggested. Keep in mind there will be maintenance required like deadheading short ...»

lived plant. Some of the plant suggestions like the japanese maple & hydrangea may burn in full sun.

    Good luck & have fun!

You could use purple and white salvia, nepita, all heights, also, pink or purple perrenial genaniums, bloom all season. Need to change up some of the shrubs, any small tree that grows slow. Don't want it to get too big, and then have to move or cut down in a few years. Annuals are always nice, you can have them bloom all season and change them up next year.

I am a landscape designer, and to stay cost effective, and not harm the existing plants, to make it pop, I would put some Blazing Star Liatris in the front of the other shrubs, and maybe some rose moss for groundcover

Google 'xeriscape' for some nice low/no water landscaping.

Don't fix the problem, get rid of it (-:

i think a japaneese maple that is red/purple would look great in that empty spot. you can control how big it gets.

I would put a Crape Myrtle in the center out from the wall of your house; and some Stella De Ora Lillies with some Purple Verbena. I would put the Verbena in the very front; since it is more like a ground cover; and it also comes in other pretty colors. Main thing is to Paint your own picture. Verbena will do good in your area. Good Luck!

I would plant a magnolia tree then put impatiences and petunias underneath, your magnolia will bloom and then below you would have your impatiences and petunias .
