I have a pretty small laundry room, and found this shelf on line at Ikea. It allows me to fold laudry in the laundry room, as opposed to dumping it on the couch, which is what I did before I found this shelf. When its closed it sticks out only about 3in. from the wall. Its very heavy and sturdy, and I'm really glad I got it-just thought I'd add to your organization discussion.- I took this pic months ago and just noticed how messy my laundry room is!How embarrassing...
