I'm sure someone will know what these shrubs are

Will be relocating these but so glad I waited. I had no idea they'd be this pretty. I'd like to know what they are and check out their needs before giving a few to my cousin. As usual,

thanks for your help!

I agree with Pedini. We have these on our campus at work.

Looks like Keims Hardy Gardenia. See links:

When I saw the flower that's what I thought of but they're not like the ones I grew in TX! Full sun AND clay?! Awesome. Thank you!

If they're gardenias, how do they smell? ;)

Your outdoor space looks beautiful, Carol!

AK - they have a slight scent - not as strong as ones I've grown but lovely none the less. The space came with the house so I can't take credit. No gardeners lived here so that's my contribution while we're here. Just needs a little tweaking.

Carol it is a flowering shrub named Gardenia. It likes full to partcial sun and is drought tolerant, they can be used as a privacy hedge and are low maintenance. They put out a sweet intoxicating scent all threw the yard, very nice and a must have

And it's quite a healthy looking specimen, I might say.

Pam - they are very healthy! I keep them that way and in the fall give a few to my cousin for their new house.

dwarf gardenias. Very sweet. can stem root. But they need partial shade to some full sun and little else besides dirt and water. Do very well in all soil types. I love these!
