The Secret to Creating a Vintage Patriotic Vignette

Easy
Independence Day is just around the corner, can you believe it?! If you're looking to add a bit of patriotic decor to your home, but are tired of the store-bought decorations, here are a few tips on how to achieve the look you want!
First, commit to a color theme and repeat it throughout your vignette. In this case, traditionally, red, white, and blue would be used. To give it a more vintage feel, though, use creams or light tans instead of white. Also, incorporate vintage items like books in coordinating colors, a vintage drink caddy, and vintage linens. Don't have vintage linens? Fake it! I incorporated kitchen towels from IKEA, a hand painted drop cloth table cloth, and even a pillowcase!
How to create a vintage patriotic vignette in your home.
Decorate with vintage books with bindings in coordinating colors to your theme.
Flowers always add freshness to any decor.
Create as many pieces as you can to keep costs down - like this USA bunting.
Lots of natural elements, like burlap, add warmth and texture to your vignette.

I love, Love it! We are very patriotic here at my house & now that the fall & Christmas decorations are down & away, my hubby asks me this past weekend,“when are you putting our all American things back up on the mantle?” I was trying to think of something other than what I’ve had up for the past 5 years & I love this!!! I think I’ll try it!!!!
