How to Achieve a Perfect, High Gloss Paint Finish!

This American of Martinsville faux bamboo china cabinet got a stunning makeover in high gloss green!
After thoroughly sanding, prepping and priming this piece, I sprayed it in Fine Paints of Europe Hollandlac Brilliant. The color is WC 60
But the real magic happens after the paint has time to cure! I sand, buff and polish the finish to create a flawless, mirror-like reflection
I polished the original brass using Bar Keeper's Friend
For the inside back panel I thought it would be fun to add this black and white mod dot fabric for an extra punch! Since this piece is for sale however, I made sure to attach the fabric with staples along the perimeter just in case the future buyer isn't wild about the wild look of it! It would be very simple to change out the fabric!
If you're interested in seeing the process, I have an in-depth tutorial found here!

How do you get the high gloss? Is it the paint you use, or a buffing compound or what? How long do you let it cure?

That green combined with black and white makes such a glorious statement, wow!! And it looks really easy to clean.
