Secondary Baths Can Have Style Too!

Who said only the master baths get to have the fun? Have you ever considered renovating a secondary bath?

This Kennesaw homeowner wanted a place to relax in a vintage-style tub & a room that would host guests in style. She selected a modern Mediterranean style; complete with claw-foot tub, uniquely designed stone tile, vessel sink, custom cabinets & more.

You can see the partial wall was removed and a larger window was installed. Open space, more light & good design were the only "tricks" used to make this bath look & feel MUCH bigger! You can read more about this bath's design here: http://bit.ly/jtsSh9

Beautiful vanity. Was the tub original to the house?

I think putting together the tub was the toughest part of the job! ;)

    AK,

That is one good looking tub. Looks like you had to maybe add a new drain for it since it's placed diagonally in the room. Really great look.

Dramatic change...well done! Have you had any issues with the height of the vessel sink?

Thank you. No issues with the height of the sink in normal usage. As an after thought if this bath is used for extended time by a man some issues arise when rinsing face after shaving.

The combination of old and new. The vessel sink with the old country french vanity and claw-foot tub.

I LOVE the tub! As someone who takes a lot of baths, a comfortable tub in a bathroom is a godsend.

The tub is awesome! I hope to have one myself when we remodel our master bath. We did the half bath already, gotta tackle the kids bathroom and THEN ours! :0) I think the kids bathroom will be much easier then the half bath was! It was a nightmare with wallpaper that would not come off ANY of the traditional ways! I'm SO glad that is over!

This really shows what I was trying to tell my fiance; that large, not small tiles, make a small space look bigger. Also placing tiles on a diagonal. You did both and truthfully, when I first saw the before pic I thought it was a different bathroom because of the perceived space!

Great observation, Gena. You are exactly right! Even on a backsplash large tiles can give the appearance of a "larger" space when they are designed correctly.

The bath transformation really was dramatic !
