$5 Yard Sale Chandelier Makeover

2 Materials
Today I am so excited to share with you a change that I have been wanting for almost 4 years. We finally hung a new chandelier in our dining room, and moved it to be centered over our table! I found this chandelier at a yard sale last summer for $5, and transformed it with gold spray paint and some clear round bulbs. I love the results so much!
The old chandelier hung in the middle of the room, but our table is not in the middle. So, we took down the old light and then when we hung this new one we made sure the cord was long enough to swag it over to be centered over our table. This will allow any future home owners to put the light back into the center of the room easily if they want to.
This is a picture of the chandelier before I painted it. My Father-In-Law was kind enough to rewire it for me so that the cord was long enough. I didn't love the color of this chandelier, but I liked the lines and the size of it, and I had a vision of how I could make it look as soon as I saw it.
You can click the link to my blog post about this to find out exactly what spray paint I used, and see many more pictures of this project and the dining room, which serves double duty as an office.

Five bucks and you struck gold! It looked like it belonged in a dungeon! Now it looks beautiful and elegant. Great job.
