This is the after (left) and the before (right) of the orange brick in our family room.
We have a brick wall in our TV room that made the room dark and needed updating. The wall also had a large ugly fluorescent light in a wooden box, hanging on the wall.
We primed the brick wall with Kilz primer
I liked the way the primer looked on the bricks, but wanted some more definition and color besides just what, so I took chalk paint (Waverly brand in Mineral color), watered it down and a stencil brush and dabbed each brick. In this photo, you can see the 8 bricks I have done compared to the others that are not painted yet!
I love the results!
The room is brighter and seem larger!
We are still working out our furniture placement, getting a larger TV and will be hiding our wires! But, we love the look of the brick wall!
Suggested materials:
  • Primer
  • Chalk paint
