Jute Wrapped Tin Cans

I thought it would be a cool idea to wrap tin cans in jute for a centerpiece. I was planning on filling them with flowers, but when I saw how great they looked with cacti and sucullents.....that's the route I took.
So simple centerpiece with cans, cacti, and candles.
I started with a handfull of tin cans from the recycling bin, jute twine from the hardware store, Elmer's School Glue, and scissors.
I spread glue on the cans and wrapped the jute string a tightly as I could. Glue dries clear, so need need to be absolutely perfect.
Filled the cans with some cacti -also from the hardware store - added some Madonna candles ,and a handfull of votives.
The Madonna prayer candles I found at the Mexican grocery store close to my house.
Love the textures in the candle light.

I do this with my art students for a fun project with yard but, I really like the look with the natural material. It really is a beautiful center piece for any table.
