DIY Abstract Art

I was in the market for some art but couldn't find exactly what I wanted for what I wanted to pay. So I made some abstract art myself. It was super easy and really fun with only a few simple steps.
1. Gather supplies: canvas or paper, paint, brushes, palatte (paper plate!) and water.
2. Start painting!
My first go round with the art was a bust and I ended up going back and repainting over the canvas with something a little more my style. The possibilities are endless.
See my art here:
Two canvases are better than one.
I chose colors that matched my living room where these canvases hang.
I like to keep it simple, but the colors tie both paintings together even though they are so different.
I used the back end of a paintbrush dipped in paint to make these dots.
Gold instantly glams up any color scheme.
