Replace an outdoor water pipe that has roots in it

Has anybody worked with a plumber (Marietta area) who had to dig up a small area of yard to replace a pipe which has roots growing in it. The county has advised us to get at least three free estimates from companies that are bonded and licensed to do this type of work.
Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.
