Love this idea! Thanks for sharing! -
Thank you! We are very happy with the way this turned out. -
This is lovely, Beverly. Can you share how you did it? -
Sure, we had four equal peices of deck railing left over, so first we made brace boards for the corners out of some leftover 2x4's, inserted plywood in between the deck railing and the corner braces, then made the top with 1x6 deck cedar deck board. I also lined it with waterproof fabric on the inside, with no bottom there was no need to do the bottom. I plan to rremove the magnolia I have in the center and replace it with a Dwarf Alberta Spruce in the fall. Should be cute for Christmas! -
I do realize that the plywood won't last forever, however it was what I had on hand so I am using it til I have to replace it. -
Thank you, Beverly! I'm going to add the how-to- to the beginning of your post so that more people will see it. Thank you for sharing! -
Thank you, I am new to this site and don't really know what I am doing...lol. I like this site very much, but don't expect too much out of me...we get lucky every once in awhile and have something turn out nicely..lol. I like reading everyone elses stuff though. -
Pleasure, and no worries. I live vicariously through everyone else on here-- I wish I had a cool re-purposed planter of my own to show. Maybe one of these days...
