Black Trim is the Simplest Way to a Stylish, Classic Look

It's like a little black dress for your house. From a black from door, to a black staircase, baseboards, ceiling or fireplace mantel and wall. You don't need to do all of them; that's overkill, but one or two in the right places and you can create some incredibly tailored and classic... on your existing color scheme.
Black kitchen counter tops make this all white cabinet kitchen pop.
Black trim on the front door, the black frame and the staircase are enough to offset the white walls and wooden chest.
Black railings are easy to create and make a statement here against the pale white and grey entry.
Painting a mantle and wall black create a focal point as well as ground this room. Love it!
Black stripes anchor this room and create an inexpensive feature wall.
Black steps, handrails, armchair and coffee table define this room.
