wow. my mother has two chairs like that -- in orange...from the 70's. Be sure to post a photo when redone. Would love to see the "potential" since I am still shuddering.
I was going to say it depends on what color you make the wood! So I agree with the first two replies, but if you keep the wood brown, I would choose C.
I think I would go with 'B', personally. I think 'A' is too regal looking. With 'C', it would go with everything!! You have to consider what style of design your room is - is it modern with lots of glass, contemporary, country style - or as I call my design, 'early gypsy'!!!! There are far too many things I love & collect in this world!
Check to make sure this is not an antique before you paint it! If it is just an old chair, paint it. My choice of color is A...I love red. I would paint the chair red too! But a lot depends on what is in the rest of the room and what colors you tend to favor.
Thanks all, after listening to all your comments I am slowly leaning towards 'C' and I am thinking of not painting the wood at all, What say?

the red print suits the chair better. The green looks like a green honey-comb, the black & white looks like a video game background, but I LOVE the red!
When it comes to furniture, I am a bit of a traditionalist. It may be just an old chair right now, but for your kids later on, it may be very special. If the wood is in good shape, do not paint it. That's just me....
