How to clean granite counter around faucets that are stained deeply

Have water softener so I don't get lime build up.
Hard to tell but this is black granite with white staining.

    Paper towels soaked in vinegar.

    I agree using vinegar. Put vinegar in a spray bottle , let it soak for a few mins and rinse off and dry,

    OK Bill, I will try using WD 40. The water here in Phx is very hard. I will give it a try.

    I have granite too, all it requires aside from cleaning is resealing every two years.

    Ok look into stripping/resealing procedures. For mine I can buy the stripper and sealer, they are two different products both can be acquired at HomeDepot or other lumber/hardware store. Secondly it can be accomplished in one day, kicker is, it has remain unused at least 72 hours. Or consider replacing the granite with a lighter color which can be expensive. But you still end up with that 72 hour time window. Discus the idea with your husband and see if he is agreeable, if not may need to just leave it alone. Personally I rather like the rustic appearance of the counter myself. It looks like home.

    Worked some with Magic Eraser. Next will try baking soda. But it is already better.
