Faux finishing an old kitchen counter top ...

We used gloss primer after sanding an old kitchen counter top, then painted a faux marble technique, then sealed it with a minwax water based gloss clear coat. Use a pro artist for best results - it will still be way under the cost & heaviness of real marble. Tips from James & Kay - James R. Hahn Productions

How nice it looks - of course, it was professionally done by an artist!

thanks, Kim - you can always try it out yourself, especially if the counters have to be changed anyway. if you do need an artist to finesse it, you'll spend hundreds rather than thousands on marble. just one of our fun projects we wanted to share :)

I just might try it on something I have around the house, perhaps an old worn table I have out in the garage - my 'workshop'!! You do beautiful things!
