  • Here's my new friend Butch. He's a styrofoam head that I bought at Hobby Lobby.
  • I spray painted him atop an empty wine bottle filled with pebbles. Then I cut a hole in his head and inserted a Fiber Optic Grass plant. 1
  • A few accessories like a bandana, an earing, shades, and a necklace made Butch come to life. 1

Meet My New Garden Head, Butch!

I painted the head with a primer and metallic stone spray paint. I cut a hole in his head to plant in. Done! LOL!

Outdoor Living: Koi pond care

I've "inherited" a koi pond. I don't think it's had much care in the past. It has a pump & filter, but it has not been plugged in. What is the most simple way to care for it?

The filter and pump are the most important things. The "sucker fish" a/k/a Pleco are really ...»
good but your temperature cannot go below 50 degrees or they will die. Koi have no problems with cold or heat. I've had my pond for over 9 years & the only chemical I use is Eco Labs lift PL bacteria. Sometimes I think people use too many chemicals. Nature is doing a fine job here.
