Yard Sale Repurpose and Recycle
When we walked into the yard I asked about the desk and an antique mirror that had been painted a bright blue with a watery white top coat. Looked awful and so did the desk. She wanted $10 for the desk and $5 for the mirror. I asked her best price and she told me that the "way it was done" was I make her an offer and we negotiate **Ohhhh....I didn't know real life was like TV! Should I offer her $2 then?*** I knew she had been watching too many reality TV shows so I kindly offered her $10 for both without saying this wasn't American Pickers. She smiled really big and said "YES!" as we were picking it up to leave she laughed and said the legs were about to fall off. I told her that was fine - I wasn't going to need them anyway. We got the better deal on the desk - we'll have to see about the mirror..........what do you think?
Now it's a lovely chest, night stand, end table - and the white is just gorgeous!
Hubs put this in some orange stuff and this is how they came out -
The legs ARE about to fall off but great wood. They painted over the handles! Why???
