Okay, I'll admit it...I have a love of bookcases! But the truth is, while I buy them for their function, it's the styling part that I most enjoy. I find that bookcases are a great way to to put our personalities on display. The key is figuring out how to place everything on the shelves so that it looks organized but not rigid, interesting but not chaotic. Below are the 8 tips that I use when styling a bookcase to create a decorative look. 1. Create layers on the shelves working from the back to the front so that you are using the entire depth of the shelf. This creates more interest than just lining up all of the items in a straight row. Use the larger items in the back to anchor the space and work forward layering in the smaller items. Using items of varying heights adds to the overall interest of the display. 2.
