Best Paints For Outdoor Furniture

If you are ready to give your patio furniture a facelift in time for the summer, here are some good outdoor paints to consider using. These are the paints I think are best in my opinion and based on my own experience.
Pittsburgh Manor Hall Timeless (interior/exterior) – I use this line of paint quite a bit. I love the sheen and the durability of it. It also has a fairly quick cure time of only 2 weeks. I usually spray this paint on with a paint sprayer, but you could brush it on.
Sherwin Williams Duration Acrylic – Sherwin Williams has great quality paint and this paint is great for outdoor furniture, exterior doors, etc. This paint is self priming and is mildew resistant also. It resists blistering and peeling.
Farrow and Ball Exterior Paint – Farrow and Ball is a really high quality paint that looks beautiful and is very durable. But it’s very pricey – between $70-100 per gallon when you factor in shipping.
Spray Paints
I don’t have much patience for painting furniture with a brush, so I either use a paint sprayer or spray paint. Here are some good exterior paint spray paints:
Krylon – This brand of spray paint is available at Walmart & Ace Hardware. Krylon spray paint is cheaper than the other 2 brands I have listed below. I have used Krylon paint and I like it just as well as the others. They have a nice selection of colors to choose from.
Valspar – This is a Lowe’s brand and they have a great selection of exterior spray paints. I have used them and the paint is durable and looks nice.
Rustoleum – This line of exterior spray paints is available at Home Depot. This is a great brand and they have a good selection of exterior spray paints.
Clear Coat – With any paint you choose, it’s a good idea to use a good exterior clear coat over the type, like Miniwax Helmsman Spar Urethane (it comes in a spray can).
