How wonderful that you were able to capture these with your camera, and that you are providing them a nice backyard habitat.

How lucky you are, Sherrie! My mother and sister have sandhill cranes in Apopka, but I've never seen babies.

Susan S, I kind of like the name Turklings that you suggested for the baby turkeys. The sandhill cranes will visit everyday as they have for years.

Between turkeys, birds, squirrels, possom & cranes I have a lot of feeding to do. Anybody know where I can buy bird food in bags LARGER than 40lbs?

Sherri we should start a petition to have baby turkeys officially called Turklings. Did I say that, I thought YOU did!! LOL Anyway, turklings is much cuter than poult. Really . . . .who came up w/THAT???

RE: LARGE BAGS - Have you checked w/Home Depot, Lowes and whatever else is in your area to see if they can special order larger quantities for you? We also have Tractor Supply stores in our ...»

area. I would assume you need a variety of different foods for the varied wildlife you take care of. Squirrels will scarf up anything and everything as you probably know. I'd call a few places and ask the store managers.

Susan S, you kind of hinted at the name Turklings and I like it. I'll try a feed store and see if Lowes or HD can provide larger quantities. Thank you for the ideas.

A Poult? A poult? Sounds like a hairball a cat coughed up. Who makes these up? Love the babies...so what are they called? We have turklings, maybe cranelings?I dont know. Educate us Susan and Sherrie.Too cute.

Not to out do yu Sherrie..but I have a family of Starlings in MY yard! Ha! Seriously tho , even they are fun to watch, mom and dad are off on the side and the rest of the kids run all over the ...»

yard looking for..I think, bugs? Anyway they are grazing. then mom gives a cluck, and off they go to another yard! But I think cranes etc would be more interesting, so keep up the good work. Do cranes eat grains or fish? We love seeing the pictures.

HOW big a place do you have?

Bernice H, cranes eat bird food, corn, bugs & snakes, too. They do not eat fish & I appreciate that.

Talk to Susan S since she makes up all the words I use for my wildlife. I wonder what she will name baby racoons.
