When There "Ain't" Room for a She-Shed

I have been dreaming of a she-shed for sometime...you know those adorable little sheds we see when we peruse the internet. Without the energy to start putting up walls I decided "who needs walls?"...I would just create a little "she-shed" area and I knew exactly how I could take some junk and make it my own with some garden themed stencils!
I looked through my stash and collected an eclectic pile of junk that had seen better days. They looked like they could use a little life infused back into them.
I decided on the hog feeder, an old weigh scale, and a metal table. The dust, dirt, and cobwebs made power washing the first priority. Once cleaned, I decided to remove the old metal pan on the weigh scale and replace it with a wood top that would be more suitable for a stencil.
Garden themed stencils were just released from Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils Collection and I paired them with Fusion Mineral Paint.
The Potting Shed stencil was the perfect addition to the old scale.
Lettering was done in Fusion's Champlain and the flower pot in Algonquin. The flower petals in Fusion's Damask and the stem's in Lily Pond.
Next up I stenciled the hog feeder and filled the top with flowers. The only thing left was the hope of some sunshine, a little rain and some gravity to bring the trailing petunias down the face of the feeder to frame the garden stencil.
I fashioned two arrows out of barn wood and stenciled them with Fusion's coal black. We couldn't resist using a little creative license and having a little fun with the Potting Shed stencil!
What I love most about my she-shed area is that you can hit your local flea market or yard sale and pick up unique pieces that you can make your own with a little paint and stencils. This was an old wooden tool box that I got for $5.00!
We added 100yr old wood to make a canopy over our old table and attached the signs with old rusty chain. It may not have walls, but it makes me smile to have my own potting area. Hop on over to the blog for a few more details and links to 6 other bloggers showcasing what they made with the same stencils and paint. You'll also find a Giveaway and chance to win stencils and paint!
