DIY Sconces

I created these sconces to be attached to the shutters behind the bedside tables. I am in love with them and they were very budget friendly! These were actually part of my May entry of the Fab Furniture Flippin Contest and I was provided the Metallic Cream paint for this project.
I started with some electrical and plumbing parts. I purchased two of everything. There were clip on lamps, flanges, elbows, connectors and pvc pipe. (we had the pvc pipe already)
I removed the wiring from the lamp in order to add the pipe, connectors and flange and feed the cord through. I also spray painted the inside of the lamps white, then painted/primed the outside brown. I just wanted a dark color under my final metallic coat of paint.
Then put it back together.
After it was all back together I thinned my Country Chic Metallic Cream paint - Trigger - which is a pewter color and ran it through my paint sprayer onto the out side of the shades and the pipes and fittings.
Pretty right? The flange was attached to shutter where we had already drilled a hole big enough for the cord to fit through. The cord goes down the back behind the shutter and gets plugged into a regular outlet. Perfect for renters or people like us who don't want to do the entire electrical set up.
We really love them. We put in LED bulbs to keep the heat down and they are brighter too.
