That would be perfect @Dagmar's Home! I'll looking forward to using it on a small table in the future!

I have the same trouble choosing stains, because I, too, dislike yellow or red undertones! I made a 16' maple butcher block countertop and it sits upon natural cherry and weathered oak cabinets. (Both reuse center cabs, stripped w/ Citristrip and clear coated with paint base for a real, matte finish.) I have no idea what color to stain my countertop. - I don't care for clear-coated maple because of the light yellow-toned color. - The vinegar & steel wool ebonizes maple and is too black. - Polyurethane (I NEVER EVER USE THIS BECAUSE IT YELLOWS!) yellows. - Polyacrylic isn't a durable seal for a kitchen counter, although it just looks wet, vsl yellow. - I have some Ecowood, which immediately turns wood to its natural grayest. Also changes the make-up of the wood and prevents rot. Doesn't seal, but the color is great. Unfortunately, it's too black for the kitchen. - Waterlox is shiny. - Oils yellow. My choice might again be paint base, but... Still what stain color under it all! :) What would you use with natural cherry and weathered oak!:) Rhetorical, but I'm here looking for ideas!
