Flea repellent of water and vinegar

I was told if you spray equal parts of water and vinegar on pets, it makes a great flea repellent. And helps sooth the itching and sores of bites. Anyone else? They say the flea hates the smell. Help?

I'm not to fond of the vinegar smell either...and perhaps so it your pet...I would think the pet would not prefer to smell like a salad too. A few years back One of our dogs got some fleas...I used a natural lavender based powder.

My four cats have not had fleas or ticks for over 4 years. I have catnip outside. Anything that has a strong smell like all kinds of mint.
