Mosaic Kitchen backsplash

I did this backsplash several years ago in our cabin in the mountains of Arizona. I wanted a western motif and brocke dishes in many colors and added african tiger eye stones and bottle bottoms. Put the pieces on with tile adhesive and grouted it with gray tile grout. I then finish it with sealer.

@Karen V - what a neat story!! I would love to see pictures when you find yourself in old Philly! How amazing that a new profession is born and artistic talent is found. Now, apparently this guy's talents are much in demand!! Gotta love it when this happens!! ;~)

At the rate I keep dropping plates and breaking them, I will soon have enough for a tiny, multi-colored mosaic of my own - broke 2 today! My dinner guests will soon be eating off of paper plates,
Still won't be anything near what beauty you have ccreated Patty.

I once painted the floor tiles of my store in Arizona, I did a style of old Madrid, a customer liked it so much and asked me to do his Villa in France...I did and it was a great experience. You never know where your art will take you.

What a work of art Patty! This must have taken a lot of Time, but well worth it in the end...it's just magnificent! Are you going to Mosiac the backsplash on the other side of the stove or leave it as is for contrast? LOVE the Iron light fixture over your table as well, I love southwest art and do a lot of my pottery with running horses...It's my favorite theme, but I haven't done any lately...I think you've inspired me to "get back on the horse" LOL ...»

Well, add 3 more to the broken dish collection. I am buying paper plates today -lol. I will soon be able to make a small mosaic- only 3 plates left.
