Rustic Boxes Are Just What Our Outdoor Chandelier Needed!

We have an outdoor chandelier made to hold candles on our front porch. It hangs over a round dining table. We live in Arizona. Candles melt in Arizona. We don't like melted candle wax in our cheeseburgers! So, I came up with another idea that's working beautifully.
This is one arm of our "candlelier." During autumn and winter months, I drill a hole in the bottom of four candles and place over the rebar. The rebar is about 2 1/2 inches high. This works great until spring and summer.
This spring I made four simple boxes without bottoms to set over the rebar.
I painted them red and distressed them using my fave tea and vinegar. See aging wood instantly on the website.
Then a handful of dollar store flowers was taped together and some stems folded up to stay in the boxes during windy days.
Now no more melted candles....
Instead we have flowers!
