Rich, brown tones are pretty, don't get me wrong, but they're not really on trend with the Farmhouse, Shabby Chic, clean looking decor style we're coveting these days. So we are making over Paula's genuine leather sofa and going from old world brown to fashionable dark gray.

Join us LIVE on Hometalk on Friday 12/8/17 at 8pm EST and watch us transform this sofa live on the air in 45 minutes. Want to try Finish All Paint for yourself? PROMOTION: 25% off Finish All on Amazon using the links below from 5pm PST on 12/8/17 thru 11:59pm PST on 12/9/17. No coupon required.
This is what we are starting with. To prep, we are washing this beast down with Acetone to remove all the surface oils. It's a gross thought, but the oils in our hair and skin are what fades genuine leather. You can see the fade on the seats of this one. You need to be sure you remove those thoroughly before applying the paint. We are using Finish All Paint. It's a flexible formula paint that is designed to work with leather, fabric and vinyl. It will not crack and requires no sealer. Remember, we're all about easy DIY here at Heirloom Traditions Paint.
Paula chose this gorgeous dark charcoal color called Weathervane. This is going to be a major transformation not only in color but in vibe!

Once the sofa has been cleaned thoroughly, we'll be begin applying the paint. It'll take 1-2 coats, allowing each to thoroughly dry between. The best part is that over leather, you can't even feel the paint! It feels just like dyed leather when you're done. Same for vinyl! And that's it. Paint is the final step!
Until we complete our live, I don't have finished pictures for you but will update them after we finish the sectional. Until then, please enjoy some inspiration photos of pieces painted by our Facebook friends using Finish All Paint.

This beautiful office chair was painted by our good friend Tracey's Fancy with Finish All Paint. Look at how that shine disappears giving the chair a more expensive feel.
Our friend Reviving by Design shared this chair makeover with us in our FB group DIY Furniture Painting with Heirloom Traditions. I believe she said it was a genuine leather dark brown piece to begin with. She painted it with Farmhouse, which is an off-white color with a slight taupe undertone to it. Isn't it dreamy?!
Our sweet friends Margaret & Mary Dale of The Resurrection Shop painted this little vinyl bench with Finish All. Finish All also works on your wood. So you can paint the leather/vinyl AND paint the wood with one product. I love that about this product!

Our leather Couch & Love Seat are peeling in some places. Just wondering if this would still work.
