Ummmm, that is a very good question. :) They are a wildflower that is every where on this little island, but I had never seen them in the states. I'll have to ask around.

The flowers look like columbine..if so- they grow from seed off the mother plant..very easy to grow

Love the flower box and LOVE those pretty little flowers. The leaves are huge in proportion to the size of the flowers. They look like they're kind of a star shape. Sure would like to know what they are too!!

I've spent hrs scouring the web trying to find those flowers... they seem similar to Platycodon grandiflorus (Balloon Flowers) but can't find these exact color or those leaves ... Please let us know when you find what they are...

I think they are Hoya's. Looks like a plant I had about 30 years ago and also saw something similar growing wild in Whistler, B.C. along the walking paths.

Jenny, I'm not sure this is a Hoya. The leaves are too wide and also Hoya leaves are more waxy looking. Their flowers do sort of resemble the star shape of a Hoya but they're usually in a cluster that makes a head. Can't get mine to bloom but my Mom's was a riot! Also a Hoya is more of a vine.

Wow, I know it's been awhile, but I found out what the plant is from a local nursery. "It's called 'Katuna de Seda', officially it's called Calotropis procera. Not native to Curaçao, it comes from Africa/Asia." Has anyone ever heard of it?
