Mattress moves and pillows fall

My mattress sits on top of the slats on my bed (yes no box springs here) and it keeps moving down towards my footboard and creating a huge hole in between my mattress and headboard for my pillows to fall through. What can I do to keep my mattress from sliding?

Have a piece of plywood cut to the size of your bed and put ontop of the slats.

Sometimes it's just the wiggle room that causes the sliding of a mattress. Buy a large, rubber gripper slip proof rug pad. These are available in a range of sizes and are found in the rug section at department and big box home improvement stores. Cut it to fit the same size of your mattress and then place it on the slats, top it with your mattress and see how it works!

How about making or buying some bolster pillows and placing them between the mattress and footboard.

Cut a 2 x 4 the width of the bed (in between rails) and place at the foot of the bed between the mattress and foot board.

I had the same problem. I got a 1x6 board cut to the width of the bed. Got 2 TABLE LEGS available at most big hardware stores. Made a sort of table to put behind my headboard, and got a huge pillow to put on top of that table-thing. Lets me push mattress back into position (sort of) and is a comfy pillow. Looks OK, and works for me.

Get the grip net that you put under rugs to keep them from slipping, cut to fit slats and attach them to the slats.
