Anthropologie Inspired Curtain Tie Backs

3 Materials

Get the look for less, waaaayyyy less. I LOVE shopping the local dollar stores to find creative ways for Home Decor. Create these cute tie backs in just a few minutes with just a few dollars. Read the full post at Up to Date Interiors.

Supplies for this DIY: Embroidery floss, hardening soft clay, and twine.

Create rock shape and tassel

Step 1: Use the clay to create a rock shape by molding and cutting it. Puncture a hole through the middle with a toothpick. Let dry.

Step 2: Embroidery floss is great for creating tassels. Simply wrap the floss around your fingers until you reach your desired fullness. Secure the top end of loops, and cut the bottom end. This should leave you with a perfect tassel.

Create braided curtain tie back

Step 3: Braid twine to create the tie back. Make sure you have a long enough length to secure your curtain.

Assemble your tie back

Slide a tassel through your clay rock and tie it onto the tie back. Let the tassel and rock hang elegantly over the bunched curtain.

Use with a hook attached to the wall (as a traditional curtain tie back) or simply wrap around the curtain.
