Like Clip

removing all my grass and putting in rocks and large stepings stones or some type of flat stone or paver......any

suggestiions on the rocks and large flat stones?

    Flag stone and stack stone is good for this project, then surround with river rock.

    I love the flagstone patio I installed two years ago. It's a pretty cheap, easy DIY project (mine was cheaper because I was able to get a bunch of remnants from a friend - check Craigslist). I also recommend considering bark or other mulch rather than rock for the rest of the surface. If you are keeping any vegetation, rocks will overheat the roots and evaporate too much water. You are here in the arid West, and we need to save all the water we can.

    Great idea for reducing water use. Consider using pebbles instead of grout for the joints between the flags, at least in the less trafficked areas.
