Antiqued Kitchen Cabinets

Lightening up my kitchen by painting the cabinets white, distressing and adding a little character!
I love bright- light infused kitchens, especially since I spend a lot of time in there. While we loved most everything about our home, I'm personally not a fan of dark cherry wood cabinets.
So I cleaned them up good, removed all the cabinet doors and mixed up some chalk paint.
I distressed many areas by sanding the edges off lightly after the paint had dried. (This is the messiest of the job) but totally worth it!
I found this cute trim at the hardware store to give some dimension to the top cabinets.
After gluing and tacking in the trim, I started painting with a chalk paint (white), then distressing and antiquing medium.
Then it was hardware and some more antiquing. I even put a little accent trim piece on the center cabinet by the stove top for an additional dimension.
I also removed the center door above stove fan and painted the interior a bright coral red to display all of my white serve ware.
The before and after---I love that my kitchen is so much brighter!

Personally I liked them before they were painted white. Much warmer look to them.
