    Depending on the rating of the wiring, most wiring installed in homes since 1984 has a heat rating above that necessary to withstand the heat of the electricity running through it at full load 24 hours a day. For this reason, it is deemed acceptable to spray foam over wires. If your wiring is much older and you are unsure of the rating I recommend you call an electrician to double check. Servicing them in the future is the only concern.

    That's good to hear, Hudson, as I was curious as to the viability of this myself. We did the same thing (around the boxes) to reduce the draft that was coming from our sockets, as the heat loss was considerable.
