This is waht I would like to do with the metal futon pieces that I have. Can I paint them, and if yes, what is the prep? I really like this idea.

i used the head board and foot board off of a baby bed and made doggie door gates in my home..they were put out to the road as trash... recycle people.. one person trash is another treasure......

Great idea. However, the problem with this is, unless you already have one, or find one at the curb that someone has discarded, it is now ILLEGAL to sell (even at a garage sale or flea market) a drop side crib in the United States!

my husband turned the side rail up on end from a baby bed and we use it for a trellis for our clematis.I like the way you recycled .

How Cool, I could use it as rails on both sides of my porch! That's Great!

I used re-bar for "posts" and wired the crib pieces to them. That's all it took to build the fence. The gates are permantely in place but I wanted them like that so that they draw you further into the yard. You can paint the wire to match the fence depending on what color your crib is. Mine was already white. Clear coat will protect it from the elements. You can find cribs that are not drop side at garage sales and flea markets.

Found a BEAUTIFUL spindle crib curb side, so i guess i just have to get the rebar, white paint and clear coat. I'm excited, my side yard is on it's way to getting a nice makeover !

A friend of mine suggested a baby changing table for a potting bench. Ideal with the shelve on the bottom. I am actively searching, love that kind of stuff
