I heard a painting tip a while back that I was finally able to try out.

If you are in the middle of a painting project, you can wrap your brushes and rollers in saran wrap and put them in the freezer overnight to finish the next day. Worked like a charm!

Pringles chip cans work great for rollers.

For rollers I would agree...I use a cheapo plastic grocery bag between days...but I like to use good quality brushes...so I clean these at the end of each session

Last year,I was hired to paint a factory's floors & walls.About 24,000 square feet. What I did was slide my long rollers & brushes into a large trash bag & twist the bag around the extention pole.I used that roller for a whole week doing this where it wouldn't dry out.

The freezer part came from the "old" days when people used oil based paints...freezing latex is not so great...All you need to do is keep the air away...that is why the plastic works.

Another favorite painting trick.... cut the top three inches off a two litter bottle, fill it with water, rinse the rollers, soak roller in it. The paint will fall into those nubs at the bottom of the bottle. Rinse and repeat. That tip is priceless!

Hi Allison, I've even put saran wrap around a tray containing latex paint. It holds the moisture and is good to go the next day.

I am not a professional painter, so I do not wash my brushes or rollers until the project is finished either. I have used grocery sacks for years & freeze them. One tip, if you are in a hurry to thaw them, do not microwave them like I did! What a genius I am!LOL

Another tip is to take a large rubber band and wrap it around the open can of paint so it spans across the top. Use it to wipe the brush after dipping into the paint. This way the edge of the paint can does not fill with paint and make drip over the side or make it harder to clean up when putting top back on

Don't try to freeze any kind of water base paint. It ruins the paint. That is why in cold climates, it is not a good idea to store paint in the garage. Instead, just use the refrigerator.

Before you put your bagged roller pan in the fridge, spritz the roller, tray and the inside of the bag with a mist of water and you're good to go for a couple of days.

Hi Allison,I believe this subject has been covered pretty well. Although plastic bags work well by keeping your paint from drying on your brush and roller. I would only suggest using this process when you are tired and you do not have time to clean your brush. A

good brush will last years if you clean it well and put it back in the cover when you are

done with it. Sometimes the paint will get into the base of the bristles when you wrap up and ...»

it is full of paint. This will make it more difficult to clean and it can cause your brush to loose it's shape. Your brush can easily be cleaned by using a wire brush on it . As for hose rollers, I hate washing them so I use an automatic roller cleaner that hooks up to

your hose or sink. I hook it up and turn the water on. I come back a few minutes later and

it's clean. I love it! They can be purchased on Amazon.com for about $15.00 I have had

mine for at least 10 years.
