Cabin bedroom redo

The bedroom in our cabin in Overgaard, Az. was so small we could hardlt turn arou nd in it. I designed a new look and new space. My husband Bob built it himself...he is 84 by the way...and I did all of the finishing, including the tile work. Whirlpool tub, monds of closet space and room to breathe. The poles are called "vegas". I designed the bed and a friend of mine made it.

The first picture is the before, The second is the day Bob was able to knock the wall out after he had put the addition on. The metal bed is to look like horshoes. And yes that is a pendleton bedspread.

This is just awesome Patty. So did you build on to the existing cabin?? It looks fabulous - and that bathroom, and the bed you designed - oh yeah, and that wonderful husband!!! All that hard work must be keepin him young cause he sure doesn't look 84!!!! Do you hire him out???

Exterior picture on how it was added to the existing cabin, outside view...
    • Before starting, this was just a covered area...luckily the roof was already there
    • After enclosing the covered area.

Now these pictures really tell the whole story. You can see the progression and the completion!! I love the stone in the center - I've just got a "thing" for the beautiful texture & colors of stone. You really ended up with a jewel of a home!!! Yeah - and the husband's a keeper too!! Please tell me you do have a fireplace in there some where. Didn't see one nor a chimney but that's not proof. Maybe a futue project. . . . .

Okay Susan S...here is the fireplace, which was red brick when we purchased the cabin... I, myself, me, Patty put the stone veneer on myself. It turned out so great that I did one out side to match...Here they are. Oh by the way, I also painted the picture of the cowgirl, I call her "Jolene".
    • Covered red brick with faux stone..and my acrylic painting..."Jolene" 1
    • The Mountains of Arizon...yes the snow falls there too. Great skiing too.
