American Eagle Wall Art From Foam Board

This American eagle is made entirely from foam board! Painted with thin paint it looks like wood. It’s a wonderful piece of artwork to display during the 4th of July or any time for that matter.

SUPPLIES


2 pieces of large good quality foam board (Cheaper foam board such as the kind from Dollar stores doesn’t paint well.)


Glue gun


Utility detail knife


Paint


Pattern download


Soda can tabs for hanging

Trace your eagle pattern (free on our site) onto a piece of foam board.
Cut it out with a utility knife.
Following the details on our site measure and cut out your backing piece and also your frame. These will be layered on top of each other.
This is how it will be layered once painted.
Paint the back piece using watered down brown paint and long strokes to give the effect of wood.
Paint the outer frame red.
Trace the details of the eagle onto the foam using the pattern
Following the design paint the eagle.
Glue the outer frame onto the backing piece.
Glue the eagle into the center.
A soda can tab works perfect as a hanger. Glue on the back.
