This a handmade cardboard frame for a plain piece of mirror. I need a way to finish the outer and inner edges that will disguise that it is cardboard. Any and all ideas are welcomed . Thank you

what about using upholstery tacks? you could have them in a different colour or continue with the blues, must say its a lovely pattern on the frame :)

Tina - you are in BV?? OMG my family is from there... small world. I like both Silver Cording and Twine depending on what you are looking for a final result. Personally, I would use the twine for more natural edging.

Make a rope from air dry clay. You could even put some texture on it, and bring the front middle over the mirror a little. They have all kinds of colors so you could make it match.

The cardboard frame looks great. Glue some fabric ribbon on the outside edges.

When stained glass artists put together a work, one method they use is to wrap each cut piece of cut glass with a piece of meal tat comes in long strips bent into a "U" shape (but the curve is squared off). Then they solder the pieces together. Depending on the thicknesses of the cardboard and the came, the cardboard might fit into the groove of the came.

I like the idea about using the air dry clay you can paint it when it is dry. But I do like using a cording around the edges , it will look more profes. if you know what I mean.

First, this is very stunning. Nice job. In the auto parts store, you can find what is used to put on the outer edge of a car door. It's made of a rubber/plastic material and has adhesive on it. It comes in different colors. It would look great around the edges of your piece.

I would stitch the around the ends with some interesting cord. Or perhaps crochet a border...?

There is a silver, metallic tape that you can get at Lowes or Home Depot that would finish this off beautifully. It's not Duct Tape. Or in a craft store there is a flexible, round wood that is used in basket making that would finish it. Silver or gold nail heads?

Hot glue colored cording around the edges. That's what I'd do. You can even spray it with clear sealant to help keep it clean. Or hot glue a string of beads. You could string pony beads the same colors as your frame for relatively cheap.

Silicone sealer, in a tube, for sealing bathtubs. It comes in various colors and is easy to apply with a gloved finger. Do it in two coats; first fill in and make a smooth edge, let dry and apply a second, shaped coat.

Glue and lay a jute rope around the edge (paint first) , or spackle with a butter knife and paint when done. Hope they help or inspire you. Btw, love it so far

I couldn't believe this was cardboard, I love it thank you for sharing. In addition to rope, you could glue ribbon or piping cord around the inner and outer rim in a colour to match or contrast. The frame looks beautiful.

Some colored hot glue would be easy to apply to the edges and would hide the cardboard.
