I once had a large tangerine umbrella over my couch in the livingroom....Bamboo coffee table, white couch, zebra rug. It had a greate look to it. Umbrella is long gone, but this reminded me. Not in a child's room, but it was fun and offbeat when I did it. Ide
A young girls "dream room" !!!! My mother used to surprise my sis and I every five years or so with an inexpensive, but lovely redec. on our attic BR. I still remember them fondly at age 63!!! You're a great artist !!!
Thanks everyone! The umbrella is such a fun and fairly inexpensive treatment. There's no headboard and I think that is okay in this instance. Ide I'm sure your umbrella looked great against the white couch and zebra rug! That's still a great look especially those colors right now. Do you have any pictures of it still? That's great Debbi C about your mom surprising you with something new in your bedroom. It really does have an impact and at 63 remembering it fondly is proof positive!

This bed doesn't have a headboard but in this case I think that's okay especially with the pole coming down wall.

The hub was drilled into the wall in a few places with long screws. The umbrella was stretched out and nailed underneath through the fabric in several places along the

wall. Brackets went over the pole and were nailed into the wall through the two holes in them. Hope that helps. it was our first time to do that so maybe someone has a better idea. It was secure though.
Once again, this is so sweet! I would love to have a room for myself sort of like this. And I love love love the red furniture! With a room ike this, she is not ging to be an "in the box" person later on. In the box is sort of boring compared to this. This stimulates creativity! Loving it.
I know I have commented before but I am back and just as much in love with this as I was before. What a lucky young lady. I wonder what her favorite part is?
E mailed it to all my friends.
