I saw them put a "re-finish" on a driveway on an hgtv show. I can't afford to pay someone to do it and it didn't look super hard... if i can keep the cat off of the finish! There is a neighborhood close where the sidewalks are black. I like the look and it would cover the aggregate showing in my sidewalk and driveway AND match the trim on my house. I need to know what the product is that you do this with, if anyone knows.
  • visit any const supply house & ask for polymer-modified conc resurfacing material,,, ' super-hard ' is subjective - the real test comes when you look at your work in 3 years
  • We have applied overlays to already damaged driveways such as yours. (Including ours). After a year or two, when moisture gets into the concrete it causes the top layer to delaminate in places. Had I kept a sealer on it, I would not have these issues. Cracks all returned and delaminated the overlay across the length of these cracks. BUT... even with these issues. overall it looks better than the neighbors. Georgeanne, it looks easy, but for a driveway you really need a crew who has done it to give yourself any shot at holding fast.
